WebJul 24, 2024 · Actually you can enable G-sync on Freesync monitors that have not been certified as Gsync compatible. However using Gsync on a monitor does require the use of displayport. Only the recent Gsync compatible TVs support gsync via HDMI. AMD cards support freesync over HDMI so it's not false advertising. WebJul 5, 2024 · Since Nvidia only supports GSync for my LG B9 and I only have 10 series cards (1080ti and 1070MQ), Would I benefit from anything else getting a current gen RTX? As far as 10 or 12 bit or 4K 120hz? Also, is there anything rumored on the 3000 series cards that also benefit from 2.1 that the 2000 series doesnt have?

WebThat is specifically for the VRR that’s built into the HDMI 2.1 spec. AMDs version of freesync over HMDI is proprietary at this time and only works for AMD GPUs currently. Nvidia GPUs need to use DisplayPort to work with freesync labeled monitors.
