WebDon't know where you live, but I've recently sent a broken 3ds to nintendo Netherlands for repair, and since they don't repair it anymore they offered a new unopened replacement. It was at retail price (back when they were being sold anyway) but seeing as new 3ds consoles aren't being sold anymore it might be a good deal :)

Some good tape may be enough to keep it in place. It’s not a very elegant solution, but it may do the job. OG 3DS seem to actually hold up pretty well but are probably the least desirable due to screen size / no eye tracking. 3DS XL will basically always end up with a cracked right hinge after a certain amount of use.
