WebbThe MacIntosh Pipe Band, established as a parade band in the early 1980's, has grown from five members to nearly 30, and is a consistently strong grade IV and Grade V band on the west coast. The band was proud to be the 2000 Grade IV Champion of Champions in the Western United States Pipe Band Association (WUSPBA). Pipe bands have long been part of military tradition, most notably in the United Kingdom and its former colonies. Many of the same standard tunes are found in both the military and civilian pipe band repertoires, and many similarities exist in terms of musical style, historical and musical influences, and dress and deportment.
